Andy Prozes

Andrew (Andy) served as CEO of LexisNexis and on the Board of Directors of Reed Elsevier, a $45B market cap information company, from 2000 until 2011.

LexisNexis grew from $1.7 billion in 2000 to over $4 billion in 2010 under Andy’s leadership. LexisNexis employed approximately 17,000 people in 2 business units – LexisNexis Legal, and LexisNexis Risk Solutions. LexisNexis Risk Solutions ($1.5+B) provides data and analytics to help risk professionals assess and decide on underwriting loans and mortgages, insurance coverage for homes and autos, and supports KYC and AML and Sanctions and other similar compliance functions which depend on personal data analytics.

Prior to joining Reed Elsevier, Andy served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of West Group, part of the Thomson Reuters Corporation from 1997 to 2000. In that capacity, Andy had responsibility for Thomson Reuters Legal’s electronic information. Revenues at the time exceeded $3 billion.

Today he works actively with many PE firms to invest in personal authentication, personal identification, KYC, AML, Sanctions and credit scoring related businesses. He serves on the boards of Scribestar, Transunion, Neoway, fiizy, Payfone, Nanopay/Mintchip, Parker Companies, and Synaptive. He serves on the Strategic Advisory Board of Kharon, and invests in young start-ups such as Veriff and Xolo (formerly LeapIn) from EU.

He founded MFS Limited early in his career, which grew from a start-up to the then largest processor of retirement plans (RRSP’s) and mutual funds in Canada, serving virtually all Canadian financial institutions. It was sold to IBM Canada in 1988.

Andy joined Southam Inc, Canada’s largest newspaper company with over 50% of Canadian daily newspaper circulation at the time. As President, City Newspapers and New Media, Andy had 13 daily newspapers reporting to him, and was responsible for all of Southam’s electronic content.

Andy is a past Chairman of The Information Industry Association and has served on the boards of the Information Technology Association of Canada, the Canadian Newspaper Association, and the National Executive Service Corps. Andy was an Executive Board Member of the American Bar Association Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative (CEELI), a Board & Executive Committee Member of The Atlantic Council of the United States, and a Director of The Bruce Museum of Arts and Technology in Greenwich, Connecticut. He serves on board of trustees of Freedom House.

Andy was born in Germany to Estonian parents who were fleeing the Russian occupation. He grew up in the Niagara peninsula in Canada and graduated in the first Canadian computer science program with a Bachelor of Mathematics in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and subsequently received an MBA from York University.

He lives in Jacksonville Florida and Greenwich, CT. He has two sons, Kevin and Darin. He holds Canadian, US and EU (Estonian) citizenship.
